Family Interventions

Involving families in the recovery process can greatly improve communications, reduce stress, and help individuals feel supported during their journey of recovery.

Family involvement begins with a recommendation from the treatment team. It is often best if the family is provided consent to participate in treatment planning and attend meetings regularly to reinforce the relevance of family psychoeducation and to provide support to the patient.

Whenever a family is engaged, it provides an opportunity to provide education, reduce stress and in many cases provide family therapy where needed.
