The postpartum period can bring a lot of change at once.
Your routines change. Your body changes. Your relationships may feel different. Your emotions can feel closer to the surface. At the same time, you are learning how to care for someone who depends on you while also trying to understand what you need.
That adjustment does not always happen neatly.
Some days may feel connected and joyful. Other days may feel overwhelming, emotional, exhausting, or unfamiliar.
At Udynamics Therapeutic Wellness Center, Rooted & Rising is a 7-week individual therapeutic postpartum program in Winnipeg created for caregivers of children ages 0 to 2.
The program offers structured support for the emotional, mental, and personal changes that can come with early parenthood.
Postpartum Support Is About More Than One Emotion
Postpartum experiences can look very different from one person to another.
You may be managing anxiety, low mood, emotional overwhelm, changes in confidence, difficulty adjusting to your new routines, or a sense that parts of yourself have shifted since becoming a caregiver.
You may also be trying to balance your own needs alongside feeding schedules, appointments, sleep changes, family responsibilities, work, relationships, and everything else that comes with caring for a young child.
Postpartum therapy in Winnipeg can provide space to work through those changes rather than trying to sort through everything on your own.
Rooted & Rising was created specifically for this stage of life.
What Is Rooted & Rising?
Rooted & Rising is Udynamics’ holistic postpartum program for caregivers of children ages 0 to 2.
It is a 7-week individual therapeutic program created and led by Sonia Nasri, MSW, RSW, who has training in prenatal and postnatal mental health.
Sessions take place in person and run for 1.5 hours each week.
Because the program is individual, the focus can stay centred on your own experience, needs, concerns, and goals throughout the seven weeks.
Babies are welcome to attend.
What Does the Program Explore?
Early parenthood can affect many areas of your life at the same time, which is why Rooted & Rising looks at the postpartum experience as a whole.
Over the course of the program, sessions can explore areas such as:
- Identity after becoming a caregiver
- Emotional overwhelm
- Your personal caregiving journey
- Changes in how you relate to your body
- Anxiety and depression
- Emotional regulation and coping skills
- Reconnecting with yourself
- Building resilience
- Moving forward through the next stage of parenthood
The program also includes guided discussions and activities, a therapeutic workbook, and additional resources to support the work happening during sessions.
When Postpartum Anxiety or Overwhelm Starts Taking Up More Space
Postpartum anxiety does not always look the same.
For some people, it may mean constant worry. For others, it can look like overthinking decisions, feeling unable to switch off, worrying about whether you are doing things correctly, or feeling on edge even when nothing specific is wrong.
Emotional overwhelm can show up differently too.
You may feel more irritable, tearful, disconnected, overstimulated, exhausted, or unsure of how to say what you need.
These experiences can be difficult to carry while also caring for a baby or toddler.
Having consistent therapeutic support can help you better understand what you are experiencing and build coping strategies that make sense for your life.
Making Space for Your Identity Too
Becoming a caregiver can add a new part to your identity, but it does not replace everything that came before it.
One of the areas explored through Rooted & Rising is how you relate to yourself during the postpartum period.
You may be thinking about who you are outside of caregiving, what has changed, what still feels familiar, and what you want your life to look like moving forward.
Therapy can give you space to work through those questions without needing to have the answers immediately.
A Structured 7-Week Postpartum Program
One of the benefits of Rooted & Rising is its structure.
Rather than approaching postpartum support one concern at a time, the 7-week format allows space to explore different parts of the experience over several sessions.
That consistency can make it easier to notice patterns, build practical coping skills, reflect on changes, and continue working on what comes up from one week to the next.
Participants also receive a therapeutic workbook and additional resources that can be used throughout the program.
Refreshments are provided, and free onsite and street parking are available.
Who Is Rooted & Rising For?
Rooted & Rising is for caregivers of children ages 0 to 2.
All caregiver identities are welcome.
You may be interested in the program if you are experiencing postpartum anxiety or depression, feeling emotionally overwhelmed, adjusting to changes in your identity, struggling to reconnect with yourself, or simply wanting more structured support during this stage of parenthood.
You do not have to wait until things feel unmanageable before reaching out.
